Dear Panther Family,

To the graduates of the Class of 2020 - congratulations and thank you! We’re so proud of all that you have achieved during your time at the University of Northern Iowa, especially in these unprecedented last few months.

Commencement is a day most of us will never forget, an important milestone that marks years of hard work and sacrifice by students and their families. This year is even more unforgettable as we all adjust to life amid a global pandemic and - for the first time ever - hold our commencement ceremony online.

Although this is a spring commencement unlike any other, what hasn’t changed is how proud all of us - your family, friends, UNI faculty and staff and yes, me - are of what you’ve achieved. Your presence at UNI has had an impact on who we are that will last for years to come. Thank you for your commitment to your education, to your fellow students and to UNI.

To the faculty and staff who helped our students achieve this goal, thank you for your dedication and compassion.

Remember you will always be Panthers. We look forward to seeing the mark you will make on your communities and the world.

  Panther Proud!

  Mark A. Nook

  President, University of Northern Iowa
