Welcome to the University at Buffalo College of Arts and Sciences class of 2020 virtual commencement.

Congratulations graduates of the class of 2020—you are remarkable. You are graduating during an unprecedented and historic event. You have persevered and adapted in ways that only a few short months ago seemed unimaginable. What you have achieved today, and during your time as a UB student is truly admirable. The contributions that you and your fellow classmates have made in the classroom, the lab, the performance hall, the studio, the athletic field, and within the UB and greater Buffalo communities are now integral parts of our UB story.

As you transition into the next phase of your life, know that your achievements will not end here. You are well prepared for whatever comes next. You have the knowledge and skills to succeed.  You will define success on your own terms.

Today, I hope you celebrate this moment to its fullest with the people who have supported and encouraged you throughout your education.

UB Class of 2020 you hold a special place in our hearts and collective memory. And, always remember you are forever a part of UB!

Congratulations and best wishes.

Sincerely,
